College of Communication & Information
Florida State University
Join us in creating our future and in empowering Florida State University to even greater heights.
Society is in the middle of far-reaching social changes that are affecting everyone. Technologies are changing the way we do the things that make
us uniquely human—how we communicate, use and share information— ultimately changing the nature of participation in modern society. The College of Communication & Information at Florida State University is in the vanguard of those exploring the impact of these changes. Our student and faculty researchers are developing new processes and acquiring new skills required to thrive in the 21st century.
As educators, our faculty strives to create opportunities for our students to develop the skills they need to be successful. These experiences empower our students by presenting them with real-world challenges and by helping them to apply their classroom learning within real-world settings.
Florida State is engaged in developing transformative ideas that will shape the future of our institution. The following pages briefly describe these ideas and how we plan to shape our college’s future. Collectively, they enable the college to dramatically enhance the educational experiences of our students and to strategically expand our research programs to continue addressing the most critical challenges in communication, information and communication science and disorders.
I invite you to examine our approach, engage in a discussion on how to best help our students and join us in creating our future that will empower Florida State University to reach even greater heights.
